Improving student performance is the single most important job of Denver Public Schools and every educator in our district. The practice of setting student growth objectives is the cornerstone of the district’s emphasis on using assessment results to guide instruction. The student growth objectives process helps educators examine the impact of their instruction or professional services – and modify their approach as necessary. Research has found that educators who set high quality objectives, as defined by the rubric in the SGO Handbook, often realize greater improvement in student performance.
Setting objectives also offers teachers and student services professionals an excellent opportunity to collaborate with their peers and supervisors through the discussion of student needs, appropriate assessments, and instructional strategies. The educator and his/her supervisor must agree on the objectives and the tools used for measuring growth.
This year, we’re introducing a redesigned and greatly enhanced online tool for writing and submitting objectives.
After you login to the web application, the system will prompt you to identify your role, school, department and/or team as well as other pertinent data.
You will need your username and password to login to the system. This is the same username and password used to login to your Outlook email account.
The Student Growth Objectives application uses a popup window to provide a consistent user experience. You may receive a warning in your browser window that the application is trying to open a popup window. Please follow the instructions and ALLOW this popup window from the secure2.dpsk12.org domain.
